It’s no secret that the University of Santo Tomas has produced several elite spikers throughout the years. The latest has come in the form of super rookie Angge Poyos, who delivered a new career-high of 31 points against Adamson University last Wednesday, April 3.

But where does her remarkable performance rank among the Golden Tigresses’ legendary scoring feats?

1. Sisi Rondina (35 points vs. Ateneo in Season 81)

Sisi Rondina’s explosive 35-point performance against the Ateneo Blue Eagles during their second-round encounter in Season 81 remains unmatched in terms of sheer point production when it comes to the UST Golden Tigresses.

Rondina’s 35 points came from 30 attacks, three blocks, and two service aces.

Unfortunately for Rondina and the Golden Tigresses, the Blue Eagles managed to pull off the five-set victory. Still, her performance will forever be etched in UST and UAAP history.

2. Aiza Maizo-Pontillas (33 points vs. Ateneo in Season 73)

Aiza Maizo-Pontillas’ 33-point explosion back in Season 73 was the epitome of just how dominant she was on the offensive end for UST.

And unlike Rondina, Maizo-Pontillas and the Golden Tigresses snatched the win against Ateneo after the lefty outside hitter’s final cross-court attack, which sealed the win in the fifth set, 25-13, 18-25, 19-25, 26-24, 15-13.

3. Eya Laure (31 points vs. Ateneo in Season 84)

It seems like UST stars like having their career-high performances against Ateneo.

Eya Laure dropped a 31-point performance against the Blue Eagles in Season 84, as the Golden Tigresses escaped with a four-set victory, 25-19, 25-21, 29-31, 33-31.

If anything, this was a sign of how Laure was willing to do whatever it took to lead UST to victory.

4. Angge Poyos (31 points vs. Adamson in Season 86)

Of course, the most recent of them all came from UST super rookie Angge Poyos, who finished with 31 big points in UST’s four-set win over the Adamson Lady Falcons in Season 86.

More than the win, Poyos also helped the Golden Tigresses secure the first Final Four slot in the season.

Being just a rookie, this likely won’t be the last time that Poyos will hit the 30-point mark in her UAAP career.

5. Sisi Rondina (30 points vs. Adamson in Season 78)

Make it two appearances for Rondina on this list, as she also had a 30-point explosion against Adamson in Season 78.

In her sophomore season, Rondina showcased her deadly form as she willed the Golden Tigresses throughout the match. But in the end, it was Jema Galanza and the Adamson Lady Falcons that escaped in the five-set thriller, 25-22, 25-21, 20-25, 28-30, 16-14.

Despite the loss, Rondina's game showcased what was to come for her and UST in the coming years.
