RODRIGUEZ, Rizal — Rookie spiker Jessa Ordiales picked the perfect moment to deliver her coming-out game, helping Cignal’s huge five-set victory against Creamline, 25-18, 20-25, 22-25, 25-16, 15-11, in the 2025 PVL Reinforced Conference on Tuesday night, November 18, at the Ynares Center Montalban.

Ordiales began the night on the bench, but once inserted in the second and third sets, the 18th overall pick immediately injected life into Cignal’s offense and floor defense.

By the fourth and fifth sets, she had earned her place in the starting six—and never looked back.

“Pagpasok ko, sabi ko tapangan ko lang,” Ordiales said during the post-game press conference. “Kinakabahan ako, pero nakita ko ‘yung tiwala ng coaches at teammates sa’kin kaya nilaro ko na lang ‘yung kaya kong laruin.”

Newfound confidence

Ordiales’ timely hits and solid blocking helped swing the momentum for the Super Spikers, ultimately leading to her best performance as a pro with nine points.

But more than the points scored, the breakthrough also unlocked something deeper for the former DLSU standout.

“Sobrang tumaas ‘yung kumpiyansa ko,” she added. “Parang na-realize ko na kaya ko pala. Hindi ako titigil hangga’t mas mag-improve pa.”

No surprises for coach Shaq

Cignal head coach Shaq Delos Santos was quick to highlight that Ordiales’ performance didn’t come as a surprise.

He emphasized that it was a product of daily effort, especially during training.

“Nakaka-proud,” Delos Sanots said. “Si Jessa, 'pag kailangan mag-step up, mag-step up talaga. Hindi dahil maganda lang ‘yung game niya today, every day niya wino-work out ‘yan.”
