RODRIGUEZ, Rizal — The Cignal Super Spikers complete their major second-round turnaround after escaping the Creamline Cool Smashers in a five-set thriller, 25-23, 20-25, 22-25, 25-16, 15-11, in the 2025 PVL Reinforced Conference on Tuesday, November 18, here at the Ynares Center Montalban.
Amid a back-and-forth affair in the winner-take-all fifth set, it was the Super Spikers that broke free at 9-4, behind four-straight points by Vanie Gandler and Katrin Trebichavska.
While Courtney Schwan tried to mount a comeback for the Cool Smashers, Trebichavska closed the door after scoring for two of the final three points for the Super Spikers.
Gel Cayuna orchestrated her squad's victory with 28 excellent sets, taking home Player of the Game honors.
The victory hiked Cignal’s record to 5-3, tied with Creamline. The defending champions, however, have a higher points total, allowing them to keep the 4th spot in the standings.
