Erika Santos once again proved to be a thorn in ZUS Coffee’s side.

The Cignal breakout star delivered 19 points as the Super Spikers stunned previously unbeaten Thunderbelles, 25-12, 26-24, 25-23, in the 2025 PVL Reinforced Conference on Thursday, November 13, at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City.

“Siyempre, thankful ako kasi 'yun nga, 'yung trust na binibigay sa akin ng mga teammates ko buo,” Santos said during the post-game press conference. “Nag-stick lang kami sa game namin and thankful ako na nag-work naman.”

It was another standout performance from Santos, who also set her career-high 30 points against the Thunderbelles during her MVP run in the 2025 PVL on Tour.

The 26-year-old opposite hitter also had a 21-point performance against the Thunderbelles during the 2025 PVL Invitational.

When asked about her continued success against ZUS Coffee, Santos said her focus has never been on the opponent but on the team’s chemistry and trust.

“Honestly, hindi naman ako tumitingin sa team,” Santos bared. “Siguro, kung ano 'yung nilalaro ng kasama ko and kung paano kami nagje-jell, siguro 'yun 'yung focus.”

“Other than that, thankful kasi every time na may game against ZUS mas maganda naman ‘yung nagiging resulta,” she added.

Continuing Cignal’s winning momentum

Santos’ latest effort not only spoiled ZUS Coffee’s perfect record but also helped Cignal extend its own unbeaten streak in the second round, improving to 4-3 overall for fifth in the standings.

The Super Spikers will look to sustain their momentum as they face the Creamline Cool Smashers on Tuesday, November 18, at the Ynares Center Montalban.
