More than her steady setting, Alohi Robins-Hardy has become quite the threat for the Farm Fresh Foxies in the 2025 PVL Reinforced Conference.

The Fil-Hawaiian setter tallied nine points on top of 21 excellent sets in Farm Fresh’s close four-set win over Petro Gazz, 25-21, 25-22, 21-25, 28-26, on Tuesday, November 11, at the FilOil EcoOil Arena in San Juan City.

Robins-Hardy credited her teammates, particularly the team’s hitters, for creating the opportunities that allowed her to attack more freely when in the front row.

“I mean, it goes back to practice, and the chemistry that we have is unbelievable,” she said. “For me as well, they open the floor for me to become an attacker when I’m in the front row. Credit to them. I just trust to go up there, kill balls, and do what they do.”

End-game grit paying off

That trust and fluid connection have made Farm Fresh a top team in the conference with a 5-1 record.

Beyond tactics, Robins-Hardy believes the Foxies’ success also comes from their collective ability to stay calm in pressure situations.

“You know, just game-like situations in practice. Credit to coach [Alessandro Lodi] for putting that into our training,” she explained. “You guys know our past games, we’ve been able to crawl our way out, climb, claw, whatever we had to do just to make it to the end. It’s never over until it’s over.”

When asked how she personally handles crunch-time moments, Robins-Hardy emphasized the importance of mental control and clarity.

“I think just for me, individually, I think taking deep breaths and relaxing my mind, so my mind can stay clear and make the decisions that I make in crunch time,” she said.

“For us as a team, I think everyone does the same in their own way — just stay level-headed and focus on that next point.”
