Jovelyn Gonzaga and the ZUS Thunderbelles are determined to play spoiler when they take on the Chery Tiggo Crossovers on Tuesday, July 29, at 4 p.m. in Pool B action of the PVL on Tour at the Candon City Arena, Ilocos Sur.

While already out of the running for an outright quarterfinal berth, ZUS Coffee (2-2) will be fighting for position—and pride—as the squad looks to bounce back from a humbling loss to Cignal.

The Thunderbelles are hoping to see a sharper performance from Gonzaga, who was held scoreless in their previous match after playing just one set. In comparison, she had 12 attack points in their upset win against the Cool Smashers.

Chery Tiggo (3-1), meanwhile, is on the cusp of a direct quarterfinal slot.

A win by the Crossovers would not only solidify their place but also drop the powerhouse Creamline Cool Smashers into the sudden-death play-ins. That high-stakes scenario gives ZUS Coffee plenty of motivation to spoil the party.

It’s a second straight match with major implications for Chery Tiggo, which fell short of securing a QF berth in its loss to Creamline.

With Ara Galang expected to lead the Crossovers once again, ZUS Coffee will need to respond with poise and pressure from the service line to keep pace.

For the Thunderbelles, this game is no longer about qualifying—but about proving they belong, and ending their pool phase games on a high note.
