Pool A of the 2025 FIVB Men’s World Championship is set for an exciting conclusion on Thursday, September 18, at the Mall of Asia Arena.

With all four teams holding identical 1-1 records heading into their final preliminary game day, the two remaining matches will determine which teams among Alas Pilipinas, Iran, Egypt, and Tunisia will advance to the next round.

Here’s a clear picture of the games ahead.

Alas Pilipinas (WR #77) vs. Iran (WR #14)

A true David versus Goliath match awaits Alas Pilipinas in their final Pool A match.

Still, the national team has proven it can go toe-to-toe with top-ranked nations after taking down Egypt in a four-set stunner, 29-27, 23-25, 25-21, 25-23.

The mission is clear for Alas Men: win and advance to the Round of 16.

But standing in their way are Iran, who may have found their groove after powering past Tunisia in four sets, 23-25, 25-20, 25-21, 25-18.

Can Alas create another historic moment in front of its home fans? We’ll have to wait and see.

Egypt (WR #22) vs. Tunisia (WR #40)

Both coming off losses, a win for the Egyptians or Tunisians will see them through to the Round of 16.

For Egypt, this is a chance at redemption after getting stunned by Alas Men.

With their experienced core led by Ahmed Shafik and Elhossiny Eissa, the reigning African champions will be keen to bounce back and assert continental dominance.

On the other side, Tunisia will look to capitalize on its own flashes of brilliance, especially during its earlier win over the hosts.

The Tunisians will be led by Oussama Ben Romdhane and Ali Bongui, who combined for 26 points in their opening-day victory against the Philippines.
