Chery Tiggo is blazing a trail through the 2024 PVL All-Filipino Conference with undeniable momentum.

After quelling the five-game win run of the PLDT High Speed Hitters on Tuesday night, the Crossovers have extended their own winning trip to five matches, which include crucial victories over defending champion Creamline and another contender in Petro Gazz.

During that dominant run, Eya Laure took the wheel and steered the team to success.

For her efforts, the younger of the Laure siblings was honored as Player of the Game in three of their past five showings, the last of which came after the rout of PLDT.

Not one to gloat on personal success, Laure deflected the credit to her teammates.

“Actually ‘yung Player of the Game hindi ko naman ‘yun magagawa kung hindi dahil sa kanila,” said Laure, who finished with 12 points on top of seven digs.

“Minsan nagtataka ako kung ako pa ba talaga ang Player of the Game kasi pwede i-consider kahit sino sa amin kasi nga ‘yung mga games na napapanalo namin is teamwork, hindi isa lang.”

It's this selfless attitude and collective spirit that have propelled Chery Tiggo to a 7-2 standing.

Still, the semis drive of the Crossovers continue. After all, they remain in fifth place by virtue of points and set ratio, despite having identical records with second-seeded Petro Gazz (22 points), Creamline (21 points), and its recent victim PLDT (20 points).

“Masaya na nanalo kami ngayon pero bukas training ulit, ‘di ba? ‘Yun ang mindset,” Laure said.

Laure and the rest of the Crossovers seek to kick their semis drive into higher gear when they take on the Akari Chargers on April 20, Saturday, at the Sta. Rosa Sports Complex.
