Coach Regine Diego is protecting her players.
The F2 Logistics Cargo Movers just went on a rollercoaster of emotions and two draining five-set matches in a span of three days.
Last Tuesday, the squad in white and yellow outshined the Choco Mucho Flying Titans to remain unbeaten in the PVL Invitational Conference. A series of successful challenges played a huge role in getting the win late in the final set.
On Thursday, the Cargo Movers' immaculate record was stained after losing to the Petro Gazz Angels, 25-20, 22-25, 12-25, 35-33, 15-9.
F2 Logistics coach Regine Diego said the short break between the two intense games must have been a factor in the team's recovery.
"Siguro mentally hindi pa sila ganun ka-recovered. Bigyan din natin ng chance 'yung mga bata na makapag-recover kasi that game before is super exhausting for us, even for Choco Mucho," Diego said in the post-game interview.
But the Cargo Movers' mentor was quick to defend her player from bashers.
"I'm going to blame that game on me. It's me," she said.
"There's so many things na dapat in-adjust ko, hindi ko nagawa. The players are doing the best they can."
Diego pleaded with critics to leave the players alone.
"Don't bash the players. It's me. May learning curve pa ako, I'm new to this."
F2 Logistics will have the chance to bounce back against the still-winless Foton Tornadoes next Tuesday.
The Cargo Movers, Petro Gazz, and Cignal HD Spikers are currently tied with a 3-1 record in Pool B of the tournament.
