It started with a shot showing a downcast woman. Her hands clasped together, face all worried, completed with a dark color grading to highlight the raw emotions.
It followed with the classic staring-at-self-in-the-mirror shot, and the musical scoring continuing to establish the conflict.
The clip had all the makings of a music video that hits right in the feels, only that it’s not a singer or actor who’s in the spotlight—but coach Regine Diego of the F2 Logistics Cargo Movers.
And yep, it’s also not a music video, but a video that features the hard work of women in their chosen fields.
“Maraming nagtatanong, nagdududa sa akin. Subalit ang mata ng tagumpay ay hindi nakatingin sa kanila kundi sa mga posibilidad na pinupulot ng liwanag,” Diego is heard narrating in the video while portraying the everyday grind of working as a volleyball coach.
Slumber Visuals, the production outfit behind the video, looks to have chosen the right ambassador in Diego, who remains as the only female head coach in the PVL.
“Oo, babae ako at susubukin ako ng panahon, ng mga pagsubok at mga laban. Pero mananatiling matatag at baon ang tagubilin ng bukas,” Coach Regine said to close the clip that also featured members of the Cargo Movers in training.
It’s not sure where else Diego or Slumber Visuals will use this video. It’s also possible that it’s a passion project that they just hoped to share to the public via social media.
“We would like to thank the whole team of F2 Logistics Cargo Movers and coach Regine Divinagracia Diego for this opportunity,” the post’s caption read.
“Congratulations to all your winning games and good luck on your battles ahead.”
F2 Logistics, which currently has a 2-0 record, hopes to capture all that luck as they resume action in the PVL Invitational Conference on July 11, Tuesday, 6:30 p.m. They will face the Choco Mucho Flying Titans in a battle of undefeated squads.
