Could it be a defiant response to the San Miguel Beermen?
The San Miguel Beermen shook the PBA world after introducing their new head coach, Jorge Gallent. While some may have seen it coming, it was still a big deal given the successful history between the Beermen and their outgoing coach, Leo Austria.
In light of this development, SMB’s team management released a statement that basically said it was Austria's personal decision to go on a coaching sabbatical. A few minutes later, his son, Bacon, got on Twitter and seemed to have vented out his frustrations.
These people can’t even get their statements right 🤷🏻??? scrambling for imaginary excuses… 🤦🏻???

January 21, 2023 Was this loaded message directed at SMB's higher-ups? Your guess is as good as ours. All things considered, we’d like to see all the parties involved thrive as they move on to the next challenges they’ll face. According to the team, the nine-time PBA champion tactician will stay on board as a consultant. With that, we wish him nothing but the best.
Raymund “Bacon” Austria was a former UAAP champion with the Ateneo Blue Eagles. Like his dad, he also played in the PBA. After his playing career, he’s been a mentor to the Ateneo Women’s Basketball Team.
