While most teams paraded celebrities and beauty queens, the San Miguel Beermen chose a long-time SMC employee to be their muse in the PBA Season 50 opening.
San Miguel took a different route when it came to choosing its muse for PBA Season 50.
With the company celebrating its 135th anniversary, it chose its long-time employee for the role.
Meet Caroline Eyer.
Eyer is a key accounts executive who has been with SMC for 15 years now.
“First of all, I’m an employee of San Miguel. So being on this is quite amazing. Kasi as an employee of 15 years, actually, iba 'to. This is beyond,” Eyer told One Sports.
“It’s not only the 50 years of PBA. It’s also the 135th year for San Miguel. So I’m proud to say that it's iconic, the company itself.”

Not used to being in the spotlight, Eyer admitted to being reluctant in taking on the role, in the PBA no less.
“As a normal person, kinabahan ako. Kasi this is not my thing,” she said, recalling how she felt upon learning that she was the Beermen’s muse.
“Hindi ko 'to field, hindi ko 'to forte. Natatakot, nahihiya, kinakabahan as a regular normal person.”

But when the dust settled, she got the job done.
Though an unknown among the muses, who included actress Sue Ramirez (Brgy. Ginebra), beauty queens Ahtisa Manalo (Magnolia), Chelsea Manalo (Meralco) and Chelsea Fernandez (Blackwater), and volleyball stars Majoy Baron, Savi Davison, Kim Dy, Mika Reyes, Jessey de Leon (TNT) and Pauline Gaston (Phoenix), Eyer also held her own.
“I’m proud to say I’m part of San Miguel, not just as a muse but as an employee myself working for the company,” Eyer said.

Other muses Salma Emam (Converge), Pearl Gonzales (NLEX), Pattie Paraiso (Rain or Shine), Eloisa Jaud (Terrafirma) and Myrna Esguerra (Titan).
