San Miguel star Cjay Perez may sport a new hairstyle on PBA Season 50 Media Day but he still has the same lofty goal for his team.
San Miguel star Cjay Perez showed up with a new hairstyle during the PBA Season 50 Media Day Thursday, Sept. 25.
Asked what prompted him to make the bold change, Perez did not really have any profound answer, saying he simply wanted something new for the golden anniversary of the league.
“Para bago lang sa paninigin ng fans. Siyempre, 50th ng PBA, baka naghahanap sila ng bago,” Perez said.
“Wala lang, naisipan ko lang. Ginawa ko na para hindi na [ako] mapaisip pa.”

Does this mean he has something to prove this season?
The man dubbed "The Predator" for his long dreads and mean game said that the goal remains the same: to win more championships.
“Ganoon pa rin naman ang goal. Personally, maging consistent lang ako sa ginagawa ko para makatulong sa team,” Perez said.
“Siyempre, 'yong championship talaga. 'Yon naman ang main goal ko. Habang maaga pa sa career ko, makapanalo ako ng maraming championship.”

While it was not easy to cut the dreads he grew for five years, Perez has no regrets, saying it might help improve his vertical jump.
“Baka ngayong conference, maka-dunk na ako. Wala akong dunk noong nakaraang conference, eh,” Perez said.
