Blackwater Bossing handed new Phoenix coach Willy Wilson a loss in his first actual game calling the shots for the Fuel Masters during the Kadayawan Invitational.
The Blackwater Bossing turned it up late to pummel the Phoenix Fuel Masters, 94-81, in opening the 2025 Kadayawan Invitational Basketball Tournament in Davao City.
Sedrick Barefield was at the forefront of the Bossing’s attack, knocking down three straight triples to ignite a 81-63 lead in the fourth period.
That lead ballooned to 15, 90-75, on BJ Andrade’s tough finish at the rim with 5:05 left to play.
There was nothing the Fuel Masters could do after that, spoiling Willy Wilson’s first actual game since being appointed as head coach.

After a so-so first 24 minutes of action, the Bossing raced off to a scintillating start in the third period and even led by 16, 58-42 after Barefield’s trey at the 6:19 mark of the third period.
Phoenix refused to fold.
Behind RJ Jazul, the Fuel Masters went on a 19-17 tear to close the gap, 61-65.
Still, Blackwater entered the fourth quarter with a seven-point advantage, 68-61 and refused to step off the gas pedal from there.
