Big men take the spotlight in the 2024 PBA All-Star Obstacle Challenge this Saturday in Bacolod.
JM Calma is the new king of the PBA All-Stars Obstacle Challenge in Bacolod on Saturday.
The event, which took place inside University of St. La Salle, saw defending champion Dave Marcelo of the NLEX Road Warriors fall to Ralph Cu (replacing Christian Standhardinger) of the Barangay Ginebra San Miguel.
Calma was able to breeze past Mo Tautuaa of the San Miguel Beermen in the first round.
Meanwhile, Jason Perkins of the Phoenix LPG Fuel Masters fell to Isaac Go of the Terrafirma Dyip. James Laput of the Magnolia Chicken Timplados Hotshots managed to get past the first round by beating Clifford Jopia of the Blackwater Bossing.
Santi Santillan of the Rain or Shine Elastopainters outpaced Raymond Almazan of the Meralco Bolts. Then Justin Arana of the Converge FiberXers beat Brandon Ganuelas-Rosser of the TNT Tropang Giga.
In the semifinals, Laput outpaced Go, Calma outran Cu, while Santillan beat Arana.
Come the finals, Calma proved to be too fast and too smooth, finishing the course at 26 seconds. It was four seconds faster than both Laput and Santillan.
He wins a prize of P30,000.
