NLEX makes daring move, proposes blockbuster trade with NorthPort

The NLEX Road Warriors are looking to shake things up after a mediocre 2-5 start to the PBA Commissioner’s Cup.

In a bold move, the Road Warriors, together with the NorthPort Batang Pier, have sent a trade proposal to the PBA Office in a bid to acquire one of the league’s premier guards.

His name? Robert Bolick.

In the proposal, NLEX will send Don Trollano, Ben Adamos, Kris Rosales, and a second-round pick in the PBA Season 49 Draft to Northport in exchange for Bolick and another guard, Kent Salado.

“We want to extend our heartfelt thanks to Don, Ben, and Kris for their dedication and hard work with the NLEX Road Warriors. Each of them has played a crucial role in our team’s journey, and we wish them continued success, both on and off the court,” said Road Warriors team governor Ronald Dulatre in the Arangkada NLEX website.

While the proposed trade is still pending league approval, the haul NLEX will be giving to NorthPort appears to be steep at first glance, particularly since Trollano blossomed into a Mythical Team candidate last season.

Then again, the prize is Bolick, who had to request for his release from the Fukushima Firebonds of the Japan B.League due to his wife’s delicate pregnancy. The 28-year-old playmaker is one of the finest lead guards in local hoops, posting per-game averages of 20.5 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 6.1 assists for the Batang Pier in Season 47.

If things turn out as planned, NLEX will be receiving a worthy replacement to injured playmaker Kevin Alas, who is facing a long road to recovery after his third ACL tear—and NLEX knows it fully well.

“In light of Kevin Alas’s unfortunate injury, we recognize the pressing need to fill the void left by his scoring and leadership. Robert Bolick is a remarkable player, and we believe his skills and experience will significantly contribute to the NLEX Road Warriors,” Dulatre pointed out.

NorthPort, for its part, will receive three solid players who may very well help the team continue its surprising 5-2 start to the tournament.
