PBA commissioner Willie Marcial aired a warning to the rest of the league following the spat between NorthPort Batang Pier team manager Pido Jarencio and NLEX Road Warriors import Thomas Robinson.

Marcial himself had to come between Jarencio and Robinson after tension reached the tunnels heading into the dugout of Smart Araneta Coliseum following NLEX's 112-104 win. Fortunately, things did not escalate.

"Tumigil naman sila. Nagkamayan din naman si Frankie Lim, sina Pido," Marcial told News5's Martie Bautista.

According to the league's top official, Jarencio personally called him to apologize for the incident.

Robinson has been summoned to the PBA Commissioner's Office, although Marcial assigned deputy commissioner Eric Castro to speak on his behalf due to prior commitment.

"Sabi ko na kausapin tapos pagbalik ko, bago sila mag-game, kakausapin ko rin siya."

It is unlikely that Robinson will be fined or suspended. Marcial said he fully understands that basketball games can be emotional.

"Away-basketball e. Alam mo naman. Naiintindihan ko naman. Nandyan 'yung emosyon."

Despite that, he reminded everyone in the league that he would not condone if these fights got physical.

"Hanggang dun na lang. 'Wag nang magkasakitan. 'Pag nagkasakitan, ibang usapan na 'yun."
