Tenorio is getting healthier by the day.
Ever since getting diagnosed with Stage 3 colon cancer back in March, the entire PBA family—including the fans, most especially—has been looking forward to LA Tenorio returning to active duty and starting a new Iron Man streak.
Tenorio himself intimated previously that he is looking forward to rejoining his Barangay Ginebra San Miguel in battle as early as next conference—in this case, the upcoming Commissioner’s Cup that will open PBA Season 48 in October.
But first, Tinyente needs to go back to playing hoops, and it appears he is close to doing that already. In fact, Ginebra’s esteemed playmaker hopes he can start playing again in a month, which would mean a mid-September return to the court.
“I’m doing well, doing good. So far I’m really looking forward, praying that I can go back to playing in a month,” Tenorio told sports personalities Quinito Henson and Dyan Castillejo in a recent episode of Playitright TV. “Keep praying dahil nakukuha naman sa dasal lahat. I’m really looking forward to playing in a month siguro.”
Tenorio has reason to be optimistic, as he seems to be progressing well in this cancer battle.
“Pino-post ko naman sa social media, it’s 10 out of 12 [chemotherapy sessions], so it’s my last two sessions for this treatment,” Tenorio said when asked about his ongoing cancer treatment. “I’m really looking forward na after that, everything will be okay. But so far, so good. The tests look good, so probably I can do some light workouts or light cardio—probably in a week or two.”
That is certainly great news, both for the Tenorio clan and the bigger PBA family.
