Justin Brownlee didn’t hide his disappointment after putting up a subpar performance for the Barangay Ginebra San Miguel in Game 2 of the PBA Governors’ Cup finals on Wednesday at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

In the 95-82 loss to the TNT Tropang Giga, the three-time Best Import was limited to a conference-low 12 points.

He also failed to make a single field goal from the three-point area in 5 tries. According to PBA chief statistician Fidel Mangonon, it was Brownlee's worst shooting clip from that range in the playoffs since going 0-for-5 against the San Miguel Beermen in Game 5 of the 2018 Commissioner’s Cup finals.

“I feel like I kinda let my team down as the import,” Brownlee said after the game.

While he had 10 rebounds, 8 assists, and 2 blocks in the contest, the beloved reinforcement knew he needs to do better to beat a high-octane team like TNT.

“I had good moments in other areas but putting those kind of numbers for an importit's gotta be better,” Brownlee said. “3 for 16 (field goals)it’s just gotta be better.”

On the other hand, TNT’s Rondae Hollis-Jefferson almost did everything for Tropang Giga with 23 points, 19 rebounds, and 9 assists.

Coach Jojo Lastimosa even credited him as the Tropang Giga unloaded 15 triples in the victory, which tied the best-of-seven series at one game apiece.

Brownlee is expected to make up for this poor showing when the two teams meet in Game 3 on Friday in the same venue.
