He met his basketball idol and all hell broke loose.
Apparently, FIBA asked famous digital content creator Wil Dasovich to shoot a fun video with USA basketball icon Carmelo Anthony. The NBA legend was in the Philippines a few days ago to perform his duties as a FIBA World Cup Global Ambassador, and they wanted to promote Melo’s Manila visit.
Asking one of the country’s top influencers to hype up the FIBA affair made a lot of sense. That is until Wil’s fellow social media personality Nico Bolzico tagged along.
So, what went wrong? Well, things got out of hand when Bolzico, who’s a huge Carmelo Anthony fan, caused a ruckus when he met his hoops idol. Dasovich had the shoot well-planned but things went awry when his friend panicked in front of the 10-time NBA All-Star.
In the end, Dasovich failed to even have his picture taken with the future NBA hall-of-famer. And for the icing on the cake, Wil and Nico got kicked out of the VIP room where Anthony was doing his meet-and-greet with his Filipino celebrity fans.
Anyway, Dasovich still managed to make an amusing video out of the chaotic situation. Perhaps the lesson to learn here is to never let Nico Bolzico be your plus-one in these types of events.
