If you’re a basketball fan, you need to see ‘Obra ni Tsong’

Creative people don’t want to be confined in a box for 8 hours or more everyday. So from time to time, they come out of it to look for some inspiration and well, a breather.

Such was the case for Gian Carlo Luague, a creative arts specialist from the Department of Agriculture.

Whether you like your job or not, there’s always going to be some stressful moments that will make you want to go out to drink coffee, smoke a cigarette, or just stare blankly into the abyss in the hope of finding the calm.

For Luague, it’s doodling with basketball players as his muses.

His latest masterpiece was this “The Fast and The Furious” digital art featuring former Ginebra legends Mark Caguioa and Jayjay Helterbrand.

As a Purefoods fan-turned Ginebra supporter, the 34-year-old made one illustrating the iconic “Kalawit Rebound” of reigning PBA MVP Scottie Thompson, considered the new face of the crowd favorites.

But he’s not limited to the PBA. Check out his works on Los Angeles Lakers mega star LeBron James, Steph Curry of the defending champions Golden State Warriors, and Dallas main man Luka Doncic on his Instagram page.

“Bata pa po ako hilig ko na mag-drawing, sabayan pa po ng hilig ko sa basketball at anime na Slam Dunk,” he said.

“Hanggang sa mag-college at magwork ako, patuloy pa din po sa paggawa ng basketball arts.”

Since high school, drawing, playing basketball, and watching the hit anime “Slam Dunk” have been his refuge. It’s his palette cleanser, his way of breaking the monotony of his everyday routine.

That hobby eventually became a sideline gig. The Far Eastern University alumnus designs basketball-related shirts and sells them online through “Tsong Clothing.”

“Way ko na din po ito pang tanggal stress sa trabaho at the same time, naging sideline ko na rin po,” said the Fine Arts graduate.

Since this is a pastime done out of boredom and stress, it’s safe to assume he’s going to keep blessing our feeds with sketches of our favorite players. So if you’re a basketball fan like him and appreciates some eye candies, you need to visit his page.
