Fan favorite Donna Vekic had no more weather delays to worry about as she marched on to the quarterfinals of the Philippine Women's Open.
Donna Vekic picked up right where she left off, taking a dominant win over Maria Tkacheva, 6-1, 6-2, in Day 3 of the Philippine Women’s Open at the Rizal Memorial Tennis Center on Wednesday.
Vekic, the no. 4 seed in the tournament, marched on to the quarterfinals after another quick win to boot out Tkacheva from contention.
The 29-year-old Croatian pounced on an errant Tkacheva, who committed six faults in the two-set match.

Vekic forced Tkacheva to the wall after breaking the latter's serve for a 5-2 lead in the second set before closing things out with a tough service game of her own.
The Olympic silver medalist will next face the winner of the match between Thailand’s Mananchaya Sawangkaew and Lin Zhu.
