When football legend Marcos Senna steps onto the pitch at the Ayala Vermosa Football Pitch this December 13–14, it won’t just be an exhibition.

It’s a rare chance for young Filipino players to learn from a midfielder who helped redefine Spanish football.

The Villarreal Philippines Academy is making history with the inaugural Villarreal 7s Filipinas Cup, bringing together over 67 participants from Villarreal Academies in Sydney and Brisbane, alongside homegrown talent.

Making a special appearance is Senna, who had an 11-year tenure and is among the most capped players in Villarreal CF.

On the international stage, he helped Spain win the 2008 UEFA European Championship.

Senna's career also includes titles with Corinthians in Brazil and a stint with New York Cosmos in the United States, leaving a legacy of skill, consistency, and winning pedigree.

He will also attend a media luncheon at Dusit Thani Manila, hosted by the Villarreal Philippines Academy, for members of the Philippine Sportswriters Association (PSA)

The two-day tournament promises high-level competition, youth development, and community engagement, giving young Filipino footballers the chance to learn firsthand from a true midfield maestro and global football icon.
