Filipino MMA firecracker Carlo “The Bull” Bumina-ang will be looking to extend his current winning streak to three in the world’s largest martial arts organization when he heads to Bangkok, Thailand, on Saturday, November 8.

The Team Lakay representative is gearing up to face undefeated Azerbaijani-Russian standout Elbek Alyshov at ONE Fight Night 37: Kryklia vs. Agdeve at Lumpinee Stadium, and the 31-year-old is confident he can defy the odds and score his biggest victory yet.

“He’s a well-rounded fighter. It’s hard to pinpoint some weaknesses, but everyone has one, right? He’s fast, he’s strong, and he’s aggressive with his wrestling exchanges. But there are some openings before he sets up those takedowns,” Bumina-ang said.

“I believe my powerful strikes will still be the key to victory. It’s my bread and butter. But of course, I must also prepare for his own strengths, particularly in the wrestling department. I plan to pressure him on the feet to make sure he won’t be able to impose his style on me.”

Beating Alyshov is one thing, but stopping the 26-year-old phenom is a completely different beast.

Alyshov made his ONE Championship debut at ONE Fight Night 34 this past August, where he defeated another Filipino star in Jeremy “The Juggernaut” Pacatiw via second-round submission.

But if anyone can end Alyshov’s impressive winning streak, it’s Bumina-ang, who will be banking on his finishing ability to get the job done.

The Team Lakay product is a winner of seven of his last eight fights, including six finishes on the global stage of ONE.

“There’s a high chance I’ll finish him with my striking. But we’re also planning and working on some surprises we can hit him with in the ground. I’m confident I am a better striker, and I can stop him on the feet,” Bumina-ang said.

Bumina-ang is out to make a statement by finishing an unbeaten threat in Alyshov, and he believes a victory here will reignite his rise to the top of the bantamweight division.

“I’m not sure when I’ll get the finish, but it’s absolutely necessary. My opponent is undefeated, and his record speaks for itself. I have to finish him with my strikes to send a message to the division,” Bumina-ang concluded.
