WNBA Finals rivals New York Liberty and the Minnesota Lynx continue to dominate at the start of this new season.
Defending champion New York Liberty and last season’s runners-up Minnesota Lynx continue to stand tall as the WNBA’s last unbeaten teams following another slate of contrasting victories.
Meanwhile, A’ja Wilson and the Aces handed former teammate Kelsey Plum a rude welcome back in Las Vegas, with the latter playing first game back since being traded to the LA Sparks.

- Shoot that Thang, Sab: Sabrina Ionescu was clicking on all cylinders for New York, firing a team-high 28 points for her 24th career game scoring 25 markers or more — the third most in Liberty history just behind Tina Charles (45) and teammate Breanna Stewart (28).
- Minnesota Lynx (6-0) def. Phoenix Mercury (4-2), 74-71: Natisha Hiedeman sank the game-winning corner triple with 5.5 seconds left, lifting the Napheesa Collier-less Lynx past the Mercury in a cardiac finish.
Kayla McBride took on the scoring cudgels for Minnesota with 20 points, while Alanna Smith chipped in 19 as the Lynx joined the Liberty as the only unbeaten teams left in the WNBA this season.
- Las Vegas Aces (3-2) def. LA Sparks (2-5), 96-81: A'ja Wilson flexed her muscle as the Aces spoiled Kelsey Plum’s Las Vegas return after dominating the slumping Sparks.
The three-time MVP went off with a season-high 35 points, 13 rebounds, six assists, four steals, and three blocks, including a perfect 10-for-10 from the foul line. Plum, meanwhile, finished with 17 points against her former team, but shot just 6-for-19 and had five turnovers.
- Atlanta Dream (5-2) def. Seattle Storm (3-3), 94-87: Rhyme Howard exploded for a season-high 35 points, helping the Dream stage a 17-point comeback against the Storm for a fourth-straight win.
- Connecticut Sun (1-5) def. Indiana Fever (2-4), 85-83: After dropping their first five games, the Sun got their first win of the season after surviving the Caitlin Clark-less Fever in a wild finish.
Marina Mabrey uncorked a season-high 25 points, Tina Charles added 17, as Connecticut lost a 15-point lead but recovered just in time to deal Indiana a third straight loss.
