Both ECHO and Blacklist are looking to make history ahead of their M4 title match.
Coming into the M4 World Championship match, history has favored the side of Blacklist International.
In Season 10 of MPL Philippines, Blacklist defeated ECHO three out of four times — including the championship match — as compared to ECHO’s one win, which was way back in August 28, 2022, in the eliminations phase.
The route that both teams took to reach the M4 grand finals also mimics of MPL Season 10.
Blacklist had a dominating upper bracket run which was capped off by beating ECHO in the upper bracket finals, before advancing to the grand finals. ECHO, on the other hand, also had a strong start to their matches until they faced Blacklist.
Despite a slow start at M4, Blacklist has recently looked like the championship team it is. They also sent ECHO to the lower bracket, but ECHO made its trip in the lower rungs quick as it crushed RRQ Hoshi to setup a title rematch with BLCK. So who says this can’t be ECHO's turn to finally win it all?
ECHO is coming into the grand finals with more motivation to finally overcome their rivals and bring home a trophy for the franchise.
But Blacklist is also chasing history. They hope to become the first team to capture the World Championship in back-to-back years.
Adjustments will be key for both sides, who are familiar with the drafting and banning strategies of each other.
Will ECHO finally snatch their first title in MLBB? Or will Blacklist make history and go back-to-back?
