Alas Pilipinas could not have scripted a better start in the Beach Pro Tour Futures 2025 in South Korea.

Decorated duo Sisi Rondina and Bernadeth Pons made quick work of Japan’s Ami Shirahata and Suzuna Fukuda, 21-18, 21-13 in their second round entry after an opening-round bye.

Down 13-15 in the first set, the pair turned the tide with a late rally, capped by a Pons power tip to snatch the opener. With momentum on their side, the duo controlled the second frame to seal a convincing win.

The "Si-Pons" tandem last competed in the China Beach Pro Tour Futures in June. They exited in the quarterfinals after a 13-21, 17-21 loss to Stefánia Flóra Kun and Lilla Villám of Hungary.

The pair kept their rhythm in the second round, overpowering Germany’s Giulia Deißenberger and Josefine Schäkel, 21-14, 21-14.
