Sunny Villapando and Dij Rodriguez racked up two wins of their own as Alas Pilipinas stormed to a sizzling start in the 2025 Beach Pro Tour Futures in South Korea.

Decorated duo Sisi Rondina and Bernadeth Pons made quick work of Japan’s Ami Shirahata and Suzuna Fukuda, 21-18, 21-13 in their second round entry after an opening-round bye.
Down 13-15 in the first set, the pair turned the tide with a late rally, capped by a Pons power tip to snatch the opener. With momentum on their side, the duo controlled the second frame to seal a convincing win.
The "Si-Pons" tandem last competed in the China Beach Pro Tour Futures in June. They exited in the quarterfinals after a 13-21, 17-21 loss to Stefánia Flóra Kun and Lilla Villám of Hungary.

Not to be outdone in Korea, Sunny Villapando and Dij Rodriguez also delivered a scorching start with back-to-back sweeps.
Riding a sizzling star, the Filipina tandem dismantled Americans Jessica McGuire and Amarie Bremel, 21-11, 21-12, in just under 35 minutes.
The pair kept their rhythm in the second round, overpowering Germany’s Giulia Deißenberger and Josefine Schäkel, 21-14, 21-14.
