Bella Belen, Angel Canino, Alyssa Solomon, and Shaina Nitura are back to banner the Alas Pilipinas Women in the 5th SEA V.League.
Alas Pilipinas are bringing their firepower to the 5th Southeast Asia Volleyball League (SEA V.League) with a formidable 16-player roster, headlined by the trio of Bella Belen Angel Canino, and Alyssa Solomon.
A strong mix of youthful stars and veteran talent, head coach Jorge de Brito confirmed the 16-woman pool to One Sports.
The squad boasts depth across all positions, starting with the outside hitter crew of Canino, Belen, Shaina Nitura, Eya Laure, and Vanie Gandler.
For the opposite slot, heavy hitters Solomon, Leila Cruz, and Cla Loresco will provide more scoring options.
The middle blocker rotation will feature a combination of size and agility with Dell Palomata, Fifi Sharma, Thea Gagate, and Maddie Madayag fortifying the frontline defense.
Defensive duties will be anchored by star liberos Justine Jazareno and Dawn Catindig, while veteran setter Jia De Guzman will once again orchestrate the team’s offense alongside Mars Alba.
De Brito also noted that the PVL MVP Brooke Van Sickle, MJ Phillips, and Tia Andaya, who all played for Alas Women in the VTV Cup, have not yet been cleared for this tournament.
The 1st Leg of the 2025 SEA V.League is set to unfold in Nakhon Ratchasima, Thailand, from August 1-3, while the second leg will be held in Ninh Bình, Vietnam, from August 8-10.
Alas Women will face host nation Thailand on the opening day before taking on regional rivals, including Vietnam and Indonesia.
The tournament will serve as a crucial step for the national team in further building experience and chemistry ahead of the 2025 Southeast Asian Games in December.
The Philippine squad also aims to build on its momentum after a historic silver medal finish in the 2025 AVC Nations Cup and a strong fourth-place run in the 2025 VTV Cup.
