NU is in a three-way tie with Adamson and UST for second place.
Finally, the National University Lady Bulldogs proved why they are the defending champions of women's volleyball in the UAAP.
Reigning MVP Bella Belen flexed on the Adamson Lady Falcons with 20 points coming off 18 attacks and 2 blocks, along with 11 excellent receptions to put them away in straight sets.
It was quite a statement for NU, after requiring five sets to put away Adamson in the first round.
"Ito 'yung pinakamalinis [namin] since Round 1," Belen told the media after the match.
"'Yung Adamson, mahirap na kalaban, madepensa. Malinis sila gumalaw," she admitted. "'Di kami nagpabaya."
The victory gives NU a 7-3 record and forces them to a three-way tie with Adamson and the University of Santo Tomas Golden Tigresses for second place.
Belen though, who rises as the fourth best scorer in the tournament with 145 points, believes the Lady Bulldogs still got plenty to bite.
"Hindi po kami nakukuntento dapat, kahit nanalo kami," Belen said. "Dapat tumingin sa brighter side, na meron pa kami i-improve."
"Like sa errors namin, kaya pa namin siya i-minimize. And 'yung consistency, nasa amin na 'yun kung paano didisplinahin yung sarili namin."
That would certainly be tested with their four remaining matches in the preliminaries: the Final Four-seeking Far Eastern University Tamaraws on April 16, the win-hungry University of the East Lady Red Warriors on April 22, the streak-busting UST on April 26, and the underdog Ateneo Blue Eagles on April 29.
