RODRIGUEZ, Rizal — The Petro Gazz Angels claimed the eighth and final ticket to the 2025 PVL Reinforced Conference quarterfinals after shaking off a slow start to overpower the Capital1 Solar Spikers, 25-27, 25-13, 25-10, 25-13, on Saturday, November 15, at the Ynares Center Montalban.

After dropping a tightly-contested opening frame, the Angels stormed back with a dominant display in sets 2 and 3, leaning on the trio of Lindsey Vander Weide, Brooke Van Sickle, and MJ Phillips, to seize full control of the match.

The fourth set proved to be more of the same, as Petro Gazz kept its foot on the gas to officially seal the last spot in the playoff bracket, ending a two-game losing skid.

In the process, Chery Tiggo and Choco Mucho have also been officially booted out of playoff contention.

Phillips was named the Player of the Game with 19 points on 18 attacks and one ace.

Petro Gazz will go for back-to-back wins against the PLDT High Speed Hitters on Thursday, November 20, at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.

Capital1, which had already punched its quarterfinal ticket ahead of the match, will aim to close the second round on a high note when it takes on the winless Galeries Tower Highrisers on the same day.
