The Akari Chargers made quick work of the Nxled Chameleons to inch closer to a quarterfinal berth in the 2025 PVL Reinforced Conference.
The Akari Chargers are one step closer to securing a quarterfinal berth in the 2025 PVL Reinforced Conference after sweeping the winless Nxled Chameleons, 25-13, 25-17, 25-22, on Thursday, November 13, at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City.
The win improved Akari to 4-3, ending its two-game losing skid. Nxled remains winless at 0-7.
In control from start to finish, the Chargers blew past the Chameleons early in the third frame with a 13-6 start led by import Annie Mitchem.
Nxled managed to pull themselves within two at 18-20 behind an 8-1 run led by Chiara Permentilla.
But Akari managed to cling on to their slim lead, having an answer for every attack thrown at them, with Ced Domingo closing the match out with a running attack.
Mars Alba orchestrated the Chargers' offense with 20 excellent sets to go along with three points.
Akari will look to secure its quarterfinal spot when it faces the Choco Mucho Flying Titans on Tuesday, November 18, at the Ynares Center Montalban.
Nxled will close out their campaign, hoping to secure their first win against the ZUS Coffee Thunderbelles also on Tuesday.
