ZUS Coffee secured its PVL Reinforced Conference quarterfinals berth and extended its unbeaten run to 6-0 after sweeping Choco Mucho in Candon City.
The ZUS Coffee Thunderbelles secured their spot in the quarterfinals of the 2025 PVL Reinforced Conference after sweeping the Choco Mucho Flying Titans, 25-20, 25-22, 24-26, 25-19, on Saturday, November 8, at the Candon City Arena in Ilocos Sur.
The Thunderbelles remained the only unbeaten team in the conference after extending their perfect run to 6-0, while the Flying Titans slipped to ninth with a 2-5 mark.
After a third-set hiccup, ZUS Coffee had to fight tooth and nail against Choco Mucho, who banked on the momentum to build an early lead in the fourth.
But the Thunderbelles’ net defense, led by Riza Nogales and Jovelyn Gonzaga, kept their squad within striking distance.
Tied at 19-all, ZUS Coffee powered to a 6-0 run behind Nogales and Chinnie Arroyo to seal the hard-fought win.
Setter Cloanne Mondonedo orchestrated the victory with 26 excellent sets to go along with three markers.
With Choco Mucho’s defeat, the PLDT High Speed Hitters also secured their spot in the quarterfinals.
ZUS Coffee will look to keep its unbeaten streak alive when it faces the Cignal Super Spikers on Thursday, November 13, at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
Meanwhile, Choco Mucho aims to bounce back in a sister-team showdown against the Creamline Cool Smashers on the same day.
