Petro Gazz nearly squandered a 2-0 lead but recovered to deal Akari a 29-27, 25-22, 19-25, 17-25, 15-11 loss in the PVL Reinforced Conference at the FilOil EcoOil Arena on Thursday, Oct. 23.
The Angels thus spiked their win-loss record to 3-1 while also giving the Chargers their first taste of a loss in three games.
Lindsey Vander Weide emerged as the player of the game after fashioning out an explosive 22-point performance, including the last three points.
Petro Gazz will go for a fourth win when it wraps up Pool B play against Zus Coffee on Tuesday, Oct. 28.
