The Petro Gazz Angels opened their 2025 PVL Reinforced Conference on a strong note after sweeping the Galeries Tower Highrisers, 25-21, 25-19, 25-14, at the City of Dasmariñas Arena on Thursday, October 9.

The victory marked a winning start for newly-appointed coaches Gary and Lisa Van Sickle, who replaced Japanese champion coach Koji Tsuzurabara.

Veteran setter Djanel Cheng orchestrated the Angels' victory with 14 excellent sets to go along with four points.

Up next for Petro Gazz will be the defending champion Creamline Cool Smashers on Tuesday, October 14, at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Meanwhile, Galeries Tower will seek its first win against the ZUS Coffee Thunderbelles, also on Tuesday.
