New Creamline Cool Smashers import Courtney Schwan is soaking in her first experience with the defending powerhouse and is already feeling right at home.

The American outside hitter, who will make her first PVL stint after several overseas campaigns, said that the Cool Smashers have made her feel instantly at home.

"The team is amazing. The team is so friendly and so welcoming. I don't think I've ever been on a team that made me feel like I was at home so fast," Schwan shared.

While joining the 10-time PVL champions may be quite daunting, Schwan emphasized that she feels no pressure from the organization, even after last year's grand slam run led by former import Erica Staunton.

"No, I don't feel any pressure. The team hasn't put any pressure. I'm here to play free, have fun, and I'm very competitive though, so I'm ready to win as well."

A lot though will be expected from the former University of Washington standout, as the Cool Smashers look to get back on top after back-to-back bronze medal finishes.

Still, Schwan believes the upcoming conference will be a true test of skill, given the strength of the competition and the influx of elite reinforcements across all the teams.

“I haven't seen much of the other teams, but I think it's going to be a competitive league, and I'm excited to see what happens.”

As for the famously passionate and loud Creamline fans, Schwan admits she can’t wait to experience the support firsthand.

“They have. I'm actually super excited. I've heard that the fans are absolutely phenomenal, and I can't wait to meet them all.”
