The young Farm Fresh Foxies pulled off a massive upset, stunning the Chery Tiggo Crossovers in straight sets, 25-23, 25-22, 25-16, in the 2024 PVL All-Filipino Conference at the FilOil EcoOil Arena on Saturday night.

After a close-quarter opening set and another nip-and-tuck affair in the ensuing frame, the Foxies broke free and created a crucial 19-12 separation in the decisive third.

The Crossovers attempted to tip the scales to their favor, but Caitlin Viray and Chinnie Arroyo thwarted their attempts to give Farm Fresh a 23-16 cushion.

Trisha Tubu then pushed the Foxies at match point before Chery Tiggo's attack sailed wide. She had 18 points overall from 17 attacks as well as a block against Eya Laure.

This is the first time the Foxies have beaten the veteran Crossovers.

Farm Fresh, a team which just joined last year, suffered a sweep from Chery Tiggo in the 2023 PVL Second All-Filipino Conference.

But the Foxies have doubled down on their basics during the offseason, training with Japanese coach Shimizu Mikihiro.

Tubu emerged as the game's leading scorer with 18 points for the Foxies, who levelled their record to 2-2.

Arroyo backstopped with 11 markers, while Rizza Cruz chipped in nine points.

Louie Romero ably orchestrated the offense to the tune of 27 excellent sets, on top of two points.

Meanwhile, Laure had 11 points laced with eight digs and four receptions for the Crossovers, who fell to 2-2.

Farm Fresh seeks to carry over momentum when it faces Petro Gazz on March 14, Thursday, at the PhilSports Arena.

Chery Tiggo, on other hand, aims to get back on winning track when it collides with the unbeaten Creamline on March 16, Saturday, at the Santa Rosa Sports Complex.
