There’s no doubt MJ Phillips has left a gaping hole in the middle for the Petro Gazz Angels.

The two-time PVL best middle blocker became the first Filipino import in the Korean V-League after being drafted by the Gwangju AI Peppers last April.

But while her playing in Hallyu Land is a big loss for the team, the Angels are rooting for Phillips to succeed in her new journey.

After all, the All-Filipino Conference runners-up also stand to benefit from her experience with the AI Peppers.

“We accept it, na parang tinuturing din namin as a blessing kasi ang laking opportunity ‘yun for MJ, ‘yung maging import ka sa international diba,” said Remy Palma in Monday’s episode of One Sports' The Game.

But now that the opening of the Invitational Conference draws near, does Palma feel the pressure to step it up?

Not really.

“Sa position namin, I will take it one game at a a time. I will just play, kasi iba-iba naman kalaban namin each game,” she said.

“Same lang, mag-aaral kami magte-training kami.
