The Creamline Cool Smashers’ Jema Galanza is one of Philippine volleyball’s undisputed stars, with a large following that is ever so supportive and loyal.

And it appears that support knows no boundaries—literally.

On Monday, several members of JG Community International, a Jema Galanza fans club of over 2,000 members, flew from Metro Manila to Iloilo to show their unyielding support for the former PVL MVP. Galanza and the Cool Smashers are in Iloilo to take on the Akari Chargers at the San Agustin Gymnasium.

From the looks of it, the fans that trooped to Iloilo came bearing gifts as well, not only for their idol, but for the rest of the Creamline players, too. And the gifts appear to come from different parts of the country—and even from as far away as Hong Kong.

That is true fandom, to say the least. But why fly several miles for Galanza, anyway?

The answer, according to members of JG Community International, is short but sweet—and incredibly touching:

Of course, it should not come as a surprise that Galanza is so beloved by her fans. She is obviously talented, with the accolades to prove it. She is also a head-turner with undeniable charisma. And, just as important, she has that magic touch with her fans, connecting with them on a personal level and making time out for them as best as she can.

It probably helps, too, that she is playing for Creamline, arguably the most popular PVL to date. Just ask these fans:

Expect the Cool Smashers, already assured of a semis slot, to put on a show for the fans in Iloilo City.
