Without Jerom Lastimosa and Paul Lee, Magnolia struggled to keep up with Rain or Shine and eventually lost their PBA Season 50 Philippine Cup showdown in Bahrain.
Bad luck struck Jerom Lastimosa and Paul Lee early Tuesday morning, Dec. 16 (PH time).
Lastimosa left the court after rolling his left ankle in the first period of Magnolia’s eventual 92-101 loss to Rain or Shine in the PBA Season 50 Philippine Cup at the Khalifa Sports City Stadium in Bahrain.
The disaster happened at the 5:35 mark of the opening period when Lastimosa stepped on teammate Rome dela Rosa’s foot during a rebound play.
He initially tried to walk it off, but needed to be carried to the dugout where he received treatment on the injury.
PBA courtside reporter Apple David later reported the cat-quick guard suffered a severe ankle sprain.
“Pag dating sa locker room magang maga na ito,” said David in her report.
Meanwhile, Lee hobbled on his way back to bench holding on to his hamstring with only .8 left in the second period. It was later reported the hotshot sustained a left hamstring strain.
Both Lastimosa and Lee sat out the rest of the out-of-town match, which is the first of two PBA games in Bahrain this week.
Before going out, Lee scored eight while Lastimosa had three.

Like most sportswriters, Jan Ballesteros once dreamed of becoming a professional hooper. But he learned the hard way that it’s not for everyone.
He continues to be involved in the sport he loves, but this time as a member of the PBA Press Corps. Aside from primarily covering the PBA, he is also assigned to cover Gilas Pilipinas.
