With momentum on their side, Japeth Aguilar and the rest of Ginebra look to sustain the momentum of their first back-to-back wins as they take on slumping Blackwater in the PBA Season 49 Philippine Cup on Friday, May 23.

Match unfurls at 7:30 p.m. following the 5 p.m. clash between NLEX and Converge at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig.

The Gin Kings finally hit their stride after a seesaw start to the conference, outlasting Phoenix, 119-112, last May 16.

Their first back-to-back victories upped their card to 4-2.

They have the one-two punch of Aguilar and Abarrientos to thank for that.

Aguilar provided veteran stability against the Fuel Masters with his 24 points, seven boards, four assists and a block.

Young guard Abarrientos, for his part, erupted for 25 points, while also contributing four rebounds, three assists, and a block, showing his growing confidence as a key piece in coach Tim Cone’s rotation.

Meanwhile, Blackwater, now at 1-5, is reeling from three straight losses and is desperate to stop the bleeding.

But against a fired-up Ginebra side in sync on both ends of the floor, the Bossing will need to deliver near-perfect basketball to avoid another setback.
