The Las Vegas Aces and Phoenix Mercury will meet for the 2025 WNBA Finals, marking the first time the two decorated franchises square off for a championship.

Both teams boast multiple titles, but only one will emerge on top in this best-of-seven showdown, beginning Saturday, October 4, at 8:00 a.m. (Philippine time).

Las Vegas enters the Finals riding a wave of momentum, led by four-time MVP and reigning back-to-back winner A’ja Wilson.

After a middling 14-14 start to the season, Las Vegas rattled off a 16-game winning streak — the second-longest in league history — to surge up the standings and claim the No. 2 seed.

That hot streak carried into the playoffs, where the Aces opened with a series win against the Seattle Storm before dropping three of their next six games.

Las Vegas ultimately clinched a spot in the Finals with a gritty Game 5 victory over the Indiana Fever.

Wilson has been a force throughout the postseason, averaging 26 points, 9.1 rebounds, 2.8 blocks, and 2.6 steals per game.

She has already notched three 30-point games and made history in the semifinals with a 35-point, five-rebound, five-assist performance.

Seeking their third title in the last four years, Las Vegas is eager to cement its legacy as one of the league’s modern-day dynasties.

Phoenix, meanwhile, is making its first Finals appearance since 2021 and hopes to end an 11-year championship drought.

The Mercury finished the regular season 27-17 as the No. 4 seed, dispatching the former champions New York Liberty in a thrilling first-round series.

In the semifinals, Phoenix locked horns with top-seeded Minnesota Lynx and, after dropping Game 1, rebounded with an overtime win in Game

With home-court advantage in the next two games, Phoenix won both, completing the upset and punching its ticket to the Finals.

Triple-double machine Alyssa Thomas has been at the heart of Phoenix’s resurgence, as the 33-year-old averaged 18.6 points, 9.4 assists, and 8.6 rebounds this postseason.

Las Vegas holds an edge over Phoenix this season, winning three of four regular-season meetings, including an 83-61 victory in their final showdown.
