China is back in the FIBA Asia Cup 2025 quarterfinals after sweeping Group C in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
China did everything right from the get-go to drub Jordan, 90-68, and sweep Group C of the FIBA Asia Cup 2025 on Saturday, August 9 (Manila time).
The Chinese thus gained an outright quarterfinals berth with a 3-0 win-loss record.
China raced off to a 24-14 start and did just enough to keep Jordan at arm’s length until the final buzzer.
Chuaipeng Cheng led China with 20 points, while Rui Zhao added 15 points and three rebounds.
Minghuan Hu had 14 points, four rebounds, an six assists.
Behind Dar Tucker, the Jordanians did show some fight, even winning the second period, 23-22.
But they could only so much, with Cheng doing the damage for the Chinese team looking for a podium return for the first time since winning the tournament in 2015.
Tucker paced Jordan with 27 points and six rebounds.
Ahmad Alhamarsheh added 11 points, six rebounds, and a steal, Abdullah Olajuwon had 10 points, five rebounds, and two steals for Jordan, which slipped to 1-2.
