After being shelved for two months, Rhenz Abando is finally set to make his Korean Basketball League (KBL) comeback.

The Anyang Jung Kwan Jang Red Boosters import is set for a return to action on March 3, the team announced on Thursday, Feb. 29.

Abando suffered multiple spinal fractures following a a scary fall against the Goyang Sono Skygunners back in December.

The former NCAA champion also sat out the Red Boosters match against TNT in the East Asia Super League last January. Anyang beat the Tropang Giga, 88-76.

That’s why fans are excited to see Air Abando take flight again on Sunday against, incidentally, the Skygunners at the Anyang Indoor Gymnasium.

His return will be a shot in the arm for the Red Boosters, who are in dire need of help as they sit at ninth place with a 13-30 win-loss record.

In 25 games so far in the KBL season, Rhenz is averaging 9.5 points and 4.6 rebounds per game. His return should also boost Anyang’s campaign in the East Asia Super League.

The Red Boosters are the defending KBL and EASL champions, and for the home-and-away series, Anyang will be in Lapu-Lapu City starting March 7 for the EASL Final 4 where they will take on KBL rival Seoul SK Knights in the semifinals.
