The star of the San Antonio Spurs vs. Minnesota Timberwolves game?

Anthony Edwards? Nope.

Victory Wembanyama? Close, but still a no.

The Coyote? That's the one.

The Spurs mascot was called into duty on Sunday (PHL time) for a rather important task: catch a wild bat.

That’s right. Another bat escaped at Frost Bank Center, resulting in a slight pause in early in the game between San Antonio and Minnesota.

After several tries, The Coyote finally caught the bat, much to the delight of the crowd and even the players.

This wasn’t the first time that this sort of event happened in a Spurs game.

The Coyote had already successfully rounded up two bats back in 2009, while former Spurs star Manu Ginobili, who was coincidentally in attendance, famously swatted one away with his bare hand.

The catching of the bat proved to be a good luck charm for the Spurs as they went on to upset the Timberwolves, 113-112.

Wemby had another brilliant outing for San Antonio with 23 points, 10 rebounds, and six assists, while Devin Vassell had 25 points, four rebounds, and five assists. For Coyote, it's his third official bat capture.

Edwards, meanwhile, put up a game-high 32 points, six rebounds, and 12 assists in the tough loss.
