The Zamboanga Valientes are already in talks with the Terrafirma Dyip regarding the acquisition of the latter’s PBA franchise.
It appears there will be a new franchise when the PBA plunges into its 50th season.
In an article on the league’s website, commissioner Willie Marcial revealed that the Zamboanga Valientes is already completing the requirements to acquire the Terrafirma franchise.
"Sana makasama sila (Valientes) sa 50th anniversary natin. May talks na sila. Ang alam ko, medyo nagkakasundo na sila,” said Marcial.

Also interested to join the league is Universal Canning, Inc.
The maker of Family’s Brand Sardines and Master Sardines has also submitted its Letter of Intent to the league.
In a previous interview, Marcial said he had the chance to talk to Tippy Kaw — son of UCI president and chief executive officer Anita Kaw — about the prospect of owning a franchise.
The conversation happened when Zamboanga hosted the PBA Season 49 Philippine Cup match between Magnolia and Phoenix last Saturday, April 26.
“Nakipag-usap tungkol sa PBA. Pero tingnan natin. Baka, baka lang. Ayokong mag-ano. Pero nag-usap kami,” said Marcial.
