“Whatever guys can do, they can too.”

That’s the perennial message female athletes convey to the younger generation in any sport.

It’s the same for Camille Nolasco, who is leading Team Buckets in the first-ever SLAM Rising Stars Classic girls’ game, which was graced by Gilas Pilipinas Women stars like Jack Animam and Ella Fajardo on Sunday.

Also one of the pioneer batch of up-and-coming ballers on the special cover of the premiere issue of WSLAM Philippines, the Gilas youth standout said they hope the young female athletes will follow in their footsteps.

“I hope we get to inspire more young female athletes to play the sport that we all love,” she said in a post by SLAM PH, which is returning to print with this latest issue.

“I hope they realize that they can do it too and we can show the path that whatever guys can do, they can too.”

Team Stars’ Frankie Buenvenida echoed her sentiment.

“We hope that whatever we show this weekend, we’ll be able to inspire the younger generation of athletes not just for basketball but the whole women’s sports community,” she said.

Team Buckets beat Team Stars, 91-89, with Alicia Villanueva and Cielo Pagdulagan being named co-MVPs.
