Gilas Pilipinas was in focus mode during the 2023 Heyuan WUS International Basketball Tournament in China, but June Mar Fajardo couldn't help but sneak in a bit of spooky fun.
Apparently, Fajardo noticed that the lights in their hotel room seemingly flickered when he tried to record a video on his camera.
"Multo ata, nagfi-flicker yung camera ko," he said in a video posted on his YouTube page.
His Gilas Pilipinas teammate and fellow big man Japeth Aguilar was not amused.
"Natakot ako, nasa banyo ako gagi," he said.
Abai didn't make things easier for Aguilar and joked, "May batang tumatakbo sa labas."
He then returned to their room.
"Meron pa namang gamot kapag na-mumu ka dito sa China," Fajardo said. "'Pag-uwi sa 'Pinas, 'di ka magagamot kasi Chinese 'yung nag-mumu sa 'yo."
One commenter was helpful in explaining the situation.
"Idol huwag kang mag-alala walang multo. Cathode light kasi ilaw niyo sa loob ng kuwarto. Cathode kasi naka-connect sa dimmer kaya may effects. 'Di maganda sa screen mo, pero 'pag pinatay mo yung ceiling light niyo, mawawala 'yung horizontal line. Buong ceiling, cathode light 'yan! Dapat open mo ibang light," a fan explained.
