Brooke Van Sickle is nearing completion of her federation switch to officially represent the Philippines, expressing gratitude for her growing bond with Alas Pilipinas teammates.
Petro Gazz Angels star Brooke Van Sickle is on the verge of completing her federation transfer from USA Volleyball to the Philippines.
The two-time PVL MVP, who suited up for Alas Pilipinas in the recent 2025 VTV Cup, is part of a group of Fil-Am standouts—including MJ Phillips and Tia Andaya—whose paperwork has been in motion for months.
Once approved, they will be officially recognized as Philippine players under FIVB regulations.
“Yeah, I'm hoping for it. All we can do is just wait and see how the process goes,” Van Sickle said during the World Volleyball Day celebration at the SM Mall of Asia. “Hopefully, we'll know sooner than later. That's the plan.”
“I'm just super grateful to be able to represent our country, and be able to wear that Philippine flag on the chest is amazing. I’m really excited for the future and to see what we can do,” she added.

Van Sickle is expected to be a major piece moving forward for Alas Women, who are focused on their ultimate goal this year: a podium finish in the 2025 Southeast Asian Games.
With this in mind, the 27-year-old spiker remains committed to the long-term vision of building chemistry within the program and raising the level of Philippine women’s volleyball on the global stage.
“Day by day, process by process. Hopefully, we'll start working together, build that chemistry, and then really show the world how Philippine volleyball is,” she said.

But more than playing for the Philippine flag, Van Sickle is also relishing her experience as part of the national squad, sharing how the team has quickly become like family.
“It’s a wonderful experience getting to know all the girls, too. Now I have more friends, you know? Just to get to know all the girls individually and on a personal level is super awesome,” she shared.
“To be a part of this, it feels truly like a family, and everyone supports each other. It's awesome to step inside the practice gym. Yes, we're friends, but also pushing each other competitively and everything. So it's awesome to be a part of that.”
