Spanish import Paola Martinez reflected on the Nxled Chameleons' winless 2025 PVL Reinforced Conference campaign.
It wasn’t the 2025 PVL Reinforced Conference run that Paola Martinez and the Nxled Chameleons had in mind.
Nxled ended the tournament without a win at 0–8, a tough reality for a young team still trying to find its footing.
But even with the losses piling up, Martinez walked away full of gratitude and a deep belief that the Chameleons can turn this difficult chapter into fuel for the future.
“It was really challenging, for sure. We didn’t expect this, not winning any game,” Martinez told reporters. “It was really hard for the team. But I also learned sisterhood here. We still had great cohesion even though the results didn’t come our way.”
A conference of lessons and growth
Martinez was one of the few bright spots for Nxled, closing the season with 15 points in their final match against the ZUS Coffee Thunderbelles.
Despite battling inconsistencies, the Spanish import said she never saw her teammates give up.
For Martinez, the biggest takeaway was about resilience and learning how to respond when things go wrong.
“I hope this helps the team for the next conference,” she said. “There are a lot of things to work on, but they can do it. Work hard, focus on the technical things, and enjoy the game.”
Hope for Nxled moving forward
While the results were far from ideal, Martinez emphasized that she’s leaving with something far more meaningful.
“The love for the sport, the love for volleyball, really,” she said when asked what she’d carry back with her. “The volleyball community here is great. I’m so thankful for that.”

Martinez also hopes the Chameleons remember what this difficult conference felt like, serving as a reminder to push harder when they return next season.
“I hope they learn from this, like how you don’t want to feel anymore,” she said. “Not winning any game is not a good feeling, for sure.”
More than that, the 27-year-old spiker also praised the team for staying united, believing a full and healthy roster next season will make a significant difference
“We’re going home happy because they are very good teammates. They help each other,” said Martinez. “I hope this helps the team keep improving, because they can do it.”
