The Akari Chargers look to kick off their 2025 PVL Reinforced Conference campaign with a statement win against the ZUS Coffee Thunderbelles in the opening-day showdown.
The Akari Chargers are out to make an early statement as they face the revamped ZUS Coffee Thunderbelles in the 2025 PVL Reinforced Conference on Tuesday, October 7, at the Ynares Center Montalban.
All eyes will be on Akari’s latest reinforcement, Annie Mitchem, a battle-tested American spiker who brings a wealth of international experience with professional stints in Indonesia, Italy, Turkey, and Brazil.
The former University of Hawaii standout is expected to be the centerpiece of Akari’s offense as the Chargers look to climb towards title contention in the league’s compressed, two-month tournament.
Mitchem will be surrounded by an impressive local roster, featuring Ivy Lacsina, Grethcel Soltones, Fifi Sharma, Faith Nisperos, Eli Soyud, and Ced Domingo.
All eyes will be on what coach Tina Salak can produce with this squad.
The Chargers, however, will be tested right away by ZUS Coffee, which will parade explosive American import Anna DeBeer and welcome back Thea Gagate from national team duty.
